In this second chapter of our Celebrating the Journey series, former team member Laura Van Der Westhuizen shares her reflections on the ten years she dedicated to Convertible Solutions.

Reflecting on the decade I spent at Convertible Solutions fills my heart with gratitude and a wealth of cherished memories. Each moment, whether it was filled with challenges or triumphs, taught me invaluable lessons that have profoundly shaped who I am today.
I am immensely thankful for the patience and support I received as I ventured into roles I once thought were beyond my reach. The encouragement from my colleagues helped me grow, not just professionally, but personally, and I left Convertible Solutions with more than just colleagues—I left with a family.

✨ George Fry showed me the importance of setting realistic expectations, even when they weren’t easy to accept. He pushed me to excel, even when I doubted myself.

✨ Aric Snyder instilled in me the confidence that my ideas have value, teaching me the importance of standing firm in my convictions.

✨ Pete Pierson exemplified that sometimes, going against the grain is necessary for the greater good.

✨ Lou Duke opened my eyes to the art of customer connection, reminding me that sometimes rules are bent to make magic happen.

✨ Barbi Muths taught me the power of speaking up, the importance of expressing myself clearly, and the strength found in moving forward with resolve.

Each lesson, each interaction, has been a steppingstone to where I stand today. I carry these lessons forward, hoping to inspire and positively influence those around me just as I was influenced.

Seeing Convertible Solutions celebrate its 20th anniversary is a heartfelt reminder of the resilience and dedication embedded in the company’s culture. Despite the challenges faced, it’s the people—the family—that drive the company forward, committed to delivering not just unique products but also unforgettable experiences to their customers.

Here’s to more years of success and learning. Here’s to family, both given and chosen. Here’s to Convertible Solutions, a place that forever holds a special place in my heart.
