Convertible Solutions and Mohawk Fine Papers have expanded their distribution agreement on Panoramic Book Block paper to include the countries of the European Union. The new agreement provides Mohawk worldwide distribution of the products which utilize Convertible’s patent-pending TRU-Flat® method for assembling lay-flat books.

“Photo books are one of the fastest growing segments of the photo industry worldwide, including Europe,” explains Aric Snyder, CEO of Convertible Solutions. “After seeing the positive response by printers and professional labs to Mohawk’s roll out of the Panoramic Paper at Graph Expo in October, we are particularly pleased that they are taking the product into Europe.”

Convertible Solutions pre-converts the Panoramic book block paper with cohesives that simplify the creation of photo books. After printing, the pages are folded, stacked and pressed together to form a series of two-page spreads without a gutter or seam to interrupt the images. An additional printed Panoramic sheet can be wrapped around the book block to form a simple soft cover or the finished book block can be case bound.

The Panoramic paper features Mohawk’s i-Tone digital surface treatment to optimize image quality and ink adhesion in digital presses. The paper and cohesives have been certified by Hewlett Packard for use in HP Indigo presses.

“Within the growing ranks of photo book sites, printers are looking for ways to stand out,” stresses Snyder. With heavy weight pages and seamless two-page spreads, Panoramic books have a look and feel that is more professional than traditionally bound books.”

“We also wanted to lower the barriers to entry for new photo book companes,” Snyder continues. “Because the paper incorporates the cohesive, the equipment required to bind the Panoramic books is simple, small and inexpensive.”

Convertible’s binding equipment for stacking and pressing the Panoramic books is also being distributed by Mohawk. For more information on the paper and equipment, visit http://www.Mohawkpaper.com/Panoramic.

Convertible Solutions is a subsidiary of Inter-State Studio and Publishing company. In addition to the TRU-Flat® technology, the company makes a full line of pre-converted stocks for envelopes, mailers and presentation folders. More information is available at http://www.ConvertibleSolutions.com.
