MultiLoft® Sheets, Encore, & Inserts Explained

MultiLoft^® cohesive is a proprietary technology designed to create printed pieces with thicknesses usually impossible in digital printing. These dry, pressure-activated, cohesive-coated sheets are printed, collated, and bonded together during the trimming process to create cards up to 64pt thick! Since MultiLoft^® was created, the family of products has expanded to several types of sheets. While the sheets are all similar and compatible with each other, there are some distinctions. Let’s explore the key differences between three members of the MultiLoft^® family: MultiLoft^® Sheets and MultiLoft^® Encore.

MultiLoft^® Sheets

MultiLoft^® Sheets are the foundation of the MultiLoft^® family, available in our widest color selection. These sheets consist of one printable side and one cohesive-coated side.

Sheet Composition: Single color sheet
Colors: Available in a wide range of colors
Weight/Finish: Available in several weights and finishes

MultiLoft^® Encore

Unlike regular MultiLoft^® Sheets, MultiLoft^® Encore sheets combine a 7pt white, printable side with a 9pt, cohesive-coated colored side–so it’s really two sheets in one! When two MultiLoft^® Encore sheets are combined, a finished sheet with an 18pt seam of color and a white exterior is created.

Sheet Composition: Combines UltraWhite + 1 color
Colors: Available in a smaller range of colors
Weight/Finish: Available in 16pt sheets with an uncoated, slightly textured finish

MultiLoft Inserts

Unlike Sheets and Encore, MultiLoft^® Inserts are not printable sheets. These insert sheets are available in our full range of colors, and have MultiLoft^® cohesive coating on both sides. They are collated between other MultiLoft^® papers, adding thickness and/or color to the core of the finished piece.
